J Lambeth is a leading independent showroom in the Washington Design Center, and one of the original showrooms to open doors in the WDC. Our commitment to the design community is steadfast and we continue to support our industry with guest talks, trend spotting, continued education and events in our new design center location.

Founded by Jim & Ann Lambeth, as a multi-line, multi-state rep organization in the late 70’s - during a time when the industry catered to stocking dealers and large retailers; not designers. Jim, being the 4th generation in the furniture manufacturing industry and Ann, VP of Gifts & China for Dayton Hudson - soon recognized the void designers faced. Jim’s mother, Kay Lambeth, was a leading New York designer before founding Erwin-Lambeth in 1946 - so the Lambeth family understands designers.

Embracing how important the role designers impart on our industry was the motivation that Jim & Ann certainly welcomed while opening their first showroom in the Washington Design Center. They believed so much in supporting the design community that they devoted their time out of the showroom focused on education, events, showhouses, philanthropic causes and charity events that shined the light on our industry. They both quietly mentored new designers and were rewarded immensely by simply by watching those careers soar. Jim & Ann have been lifelong champions of this industry, and have treasured every minute.

Ann Lambeth

A mentor and a muse, a mover and a shaker, she was so much to so many and will be dearly missed and remembered in our hearts forever. There only was and ever will be one Ann Lambeth. In honor of her dedication to this industry, the J Lambeth Memorial Scholarship was established to continue her inspiration for the designers of tomorrow.
